Awesome Fun (by sphsbandstud2004) |
I can admit that the screenplay isn't very good, and that it has some slow parts, but all of you critics of this movie need to learn how to have some fun. First of all, the performances are great Michael Douglas, Kim Basinger, Kiefer Sutherland, and Eva Longoria. Michael Douglas proves he has still got it, and Kim Basinger plays a very interesting character as the cheating wife. Kiefer Sutherland and Eva Longoria, play the dynamic duo, both adding their incredible talent to the pot. And second of all, this movie is the most fun I have had in years in a Theodore. Its plain and simple, if <more> |
This is an excellent, Must See Movie!!!! (by locknbar) |
My girlfriend of 3 years, her father, & I went & seen The Sentinel last night, & we and most others walked out blown away, very impressed indeed! The Special Effects were Very well done, the gun fights were Very impressive, the acting was on the ball, technology was impressive & easily up to date. I agree with some of the others that it's not as action-packed & suspenseful as 24, but they make up for that with Drama, & clearly talented acting. This movie reminds me in some ways of Enemy of the State, but a little less intense, & lacking the naturally comedic <more> |
A fast-paced, endlessly gripping thriller! (by eibeh007) |
Folks, do not pay attention to critics on this one. "The Sentinel" has to be one of the most riveting thrillers I've seen in a very, very long time. Its a really well done thriller. Micheal Douglas, Keifer Sutherland, Kim Basinger, and the sexy Eva Longoria she should do more films all turn in credible performances. I almost ended up not watching it because of unfavorable reviews, but I'm so glad I did!. This film is being unfairly compared to the Wolfgang Peterson's 1993 masterpiece, "In The Line of Fire". It obviously pales in comparison in every aspect but <more> |
Finally a good script (by iohefy-2) |
Went to see the preview of The Sentinel last night and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent script which is rare these days and an exciting movie with many twists and turns. Michael Douglas and Keifer Sutherland are excellent in their parts. The ladies in the movie were there for their looks and the acting was just so so on their part. If you want to see an exciting movie I suggest that you go see this fine film and you will certainly get your moneys worth for the two hours that you spend in the theater. This is one of the best things that I have seen Michael Douglas do in a few years. <more> |
Excellent Movie! (by Andrea131) |
This is one of the best politically charged thrillers that I have ever seen! I recommend it to anyone that likes good movies!! I was really surprised by the intensity of all the actors, including Eva Langoria. Would def. see it again! The entire movie keeps you in suspense and the end is completely unexpected. I really do believe that Langoria will be nominated for best supporting actress for this film. She does not even try to play the pretty card in the movie; it's all about her acting. Sutherland and Douglas are very believable as nemesis', it's makes you wonder if there might <more> |
An Entertaining Political Thriller.....Period! (by ccthemovieman-1) |
I enjoyed this film. I thought it was an excellent political thriller about something that's never happened before - a Secret Service agent going bad and involved in an assassination plot. Unfortunately, for Michael Douglas' character, "Pete Garrison," they think HE's the mole but he isn't. He's just a morally-flawed agent having an affair with the First Lady! Since he's doing that, he's unable to give an acceptable polygraph exam and that makes him suspect number one when it's revealed there is a plot to kill the President."Garrison" is <more> |
Exciting and Intelligent... Most of the Time (by aharmas) |
There was some hesitation from my part about what this movie had to offer. For starters, the casting didn't seem right. Kiefer Sutherland had already done very well in "24" and the preview didn't seem to offer anything challenging to him or the audience. Eva Longoria appeared out of place, and the rest didn't seem very interesting. When the film finally ended, I was not completely displeased for I had seen a decent thriller that could have been much better, had the responsible parties taken a little more care to watch for the narrative gaps and given a little more care to <more> |
Why Compare to 24 (by brendaluvskiefer) |
I don't understand why this movie keeps getting compared to 24, just because Kiefer is in it. It is based on a book that was written years before 24, and Kiefer had been in MANY movies before this one! I thought it was a good movie and the last 20 minutes were very edge of your seat. I read some of the reviews and noticed that they don't even have the characters names correct. It was easy for avid 24 fans to spot the mole immediately, but there are quite a few movie goers with are not 24 fans. I am sure there are plenty of people going to see the movie for different reasons. My reason <more> |
Great time-pass (by Pgoel) |
The Sentinel is about an agent Pat Garrison Michael Douglass who has given his life to the Secret Service and protecting the President. But, the man he recommends to lead the investigation into a mole in the Secret Service Agent Breckenridge Kiefer Southerland suspects him. Breckenridge and Garrison have 'history', and one of the flaws in the movie is it does not expose how much this history caused Breckenridge to suspect Garrison. Garrison always cites this when discussing why Breckenridge suspects him but the audience does not know. The other major flaw is with the actual mole. <more> |
