I went to see this movie tonight and I was unsure as to what the outcome would be. I find that movies with a wide array of celebrities are sometimes hard to follow and over all...not great. This however was an exception. From the beginning of the movie, until the very end I was amazed. I thought it was an amazing movie to be honest. It was very funny and I generally don't like funny movies as I generally don't find movies funny even when they're supposed to be , it was very amusing, it was all around great. I laughed from the beginning till the end.It had a great cast who all did <more>
a tremendous job.It was not one of those cheesy sappy love stories to any degree as some people may expect it to be. It was full of happy moments as well as some sad moments but they all blended together very well.I would recommend this movie to anyone as it was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
I just loved it...It is not a great movie but it is a feel good movie (by an_nukman_88)
I cant see why people hate this movie so much. As for me it is a feel good movie. The movie is giving not only the movie but also the viewers a lot of hope. Yes i get it that this movie is not really digging deep enough to give a more powerful story, sentimental values bla2 and so on but the question is how do you put a lot of stories in one movie and make the viewers feel good. If its a series yes you can really go to the roots but this is a movie so the most the director has is two and a half hour plus. You may argue that lesser story would be better but i am sorry there are people out <more>
there who want more stories in a movie too and not series where when they leave you one week just to make you wonder what is going to happen next. For me, once again i have to say that this is a feel good movie. This movie should make you feel good after you have watch it and yes i did feel it after watching this movie. Yes you may say things like this would never happen in real life but hey we need movies like this so that we could give our self a second chance and hope. In terms of humor, this movie also will definitely make you laugh and smile in many scenes. It is not a great movie but it is a feel good movie.
I thought this movie was wonderful! What a great storyline, nicely written. So many little twists and turns.I cant see how anyone would not love this film and enjoy every second of it. I loved each storyline all different in there each way.I loved the creative story line and how it played out to the very end. I really didn't want the movie to end. It hit you straight in the heart at some points. Cast was just amazing! Zach will def be receiving more movie roles after this! Ending was just great! I loved how the showed New York City Bright Colors and busy streets. Proud of New York City! I <more>
New Years Eve was the perfect feel good movie. It has everything from romance to heartbreak. With the all star cast you can't help but have high expectations and mine were met. Lea's singing was amazing as was Bon Jovi's and I could not help but giggle when Zac and Michelle were cast together and share a kiss as all i could think of was them in Hairspray. This movie shows us the good and the bad of everyday life. It shows the hope that people should and do hold onto and that you should look forward and embrace the new year not think of all the bad that has happened in the present <more>
year.Hector's role in this movie was awesome and such a fantastic way to make the audience laugh as was the baby having competition between the two couples. This movie is full of clichés and cheesiness however it is exactly that which will charm the audience and make you come out of the cinema with a smile and perhaps a few ideas of what you will do for you new years.
See New Year's Eve for an entertaining movie (by mosumo-254-19254)
After reading some of the user reviews, we almost did not go to New Year's Eve. That would have been a huge mistake. I do not know why some people go to the movies. They were running down a movie for reasons that, after viewing the movie, leave me puzzled. Calling this movie awful is like calling a good hamburger boring. It is all in the eyes of the beholder I admit, but awful, I hardly think so. We go to be entertained, and we were surely entertained by this movie. It had all the elements that we like in a movie: good acting, great direction, great music, great editing. The plot lines <more>
are interesting, as they have been in other similar movies such as Valentine's Day and Love Actually. It is with some interest, how they tie the individual plots together as the movies reaches its ending. Don't be misled. See this movie. You will not be sorry!!
I believe that New Year's Eve is a better, modified version of Valentine's Day. It's a string of stories and people's lives that intertwine during one special holiday. (by swiss-sis2)

I'm reading some bad reviews of this movie, and I don't think the criticisms are exactly justified. While many of the complaints are valid, I don't think they apply to a movie like this. I saw Hugo and loved it. That movie is "art" in it's most beautiful form. I expected it to be. Hugo is caviar from Le Bernardin.New Year's Eve is a big, sloppy, tasty chocolate fudge milkshake from Baskin Robbins. It isn't classy. It doesn't take a lot of talent to make it. But it is ultimately satisfying and puts a smile on your face. My daughter and I both really <more>
enjoyed New Year's Eve. For the first few minutes, we did feel a bit like we had ADD because the scenes changed so quickly from one story line to the next. But we soon got into the pace of it and enjoyed it thoroughly as a happy diversion on a Saturday afternoon. It's much better than last Year's Valentines Day and is definitely a feel-good movie for a Girls' Night Out.
Fast paced, funny and uplifting. One of my three best films of 2011 (by Philip-David-Truscott)
I just watched the opening night at what I believe is the largest Cinema in Singapore. I left feeling that the movie had lived up to its aims and that the official critics were incredibly harsh. I felt this movie came together much better than the Director's previous offering "Valentine's Day". There was a genuine surprise twist at the end and a speech in the middle about second chances and forgiveness which I hate to admit it brought a tear to my eye. The multi-plot format, the fantastic music mixing, a one-liners made it a real winner. This was a terrific movie. It was <more>
very funny in places, had a fast pace, and was splendid entertainment. If it was a stage show I would have shouted "Bravo" at the end.
May the naysaying critics take a vacation in the Underworld! No, its not a masterpiece but it is sweet, romantic, funny, and touching (by inkblot11)
Ingrid Michelle Pfeiffer is the personal assistant to a bigwig at a Manhattan recording company John Lithgow . But, on the morning of New Year's Eve Day, when she trips and falls on some garbage bags near the office, its the last straw. So, when a handsome young courier Zac Ephron brings her some tickets to a swanky Eve ball, she offers to give him the tiny slips of cardboard for a price. She has her list of resolutions from the previous year and not one of them have been met. The deal is on. Meanwhile, a comic book artist Ashton Kutcher gets stuck in an elevator with a young <more>
singer Lea Michele while a chef Katharine Heigl finds herself catering an event where her former boyfriend, Jensen Jon Bon Jovi is set to sing. Times Square event planner Hilary Swank and her sidekick police officer Ludacris have to make sure the ball dropping event goes off without a problem. A dying man Robert De Niro checked into a hospital near the Square, so he could see the ball drop, but his doc won't let him on the roof. A kind nurse Halle Berry , however, might make it happen. Also in the city are two couples one is Seth Meyer and Jessica Biel who are hoping to "drop" the Eve baby at the same hospital and snag the $25,000 famous baby gift. But, that's not all folks! A recording exec Josh Duhamel has to go to a wedding in Connecticut but needs to be back in Manhattan on the Eve, for a meeting with a lady who stole his heart. Finally, a theater seamstress Sarah Jessica Parker wants to spend the Eve with her teen daughter Abigail Breslin , since her ex-husband got her last year, but the young gal wants to go to the Square with friends, especially to meet a boy she likes. Mom says no. So, with all of these stories in the Big Apple, will everyone start the New Year off right? You bet! This is quite a nice story, no matter what the hard hearted critics say, and its also romantic, funny, touching, and beautifully photographed. Spending any time with these fun folks and their adventures is hardly a waste of time. This viewer especially liked Ingrid's list and Ephron's ingenious ways of fulfilling it. In addition to the cast mentioned above, Hector Elizondo, Penny Marshall, Sofia Veraga, Cherry Jones and Larry Miller also drop by to steal scenes. No, real life probably does not end as happily as things do here, but that doesn't mean that the film doesn't also have some footing in reality as well. So, folks, why don't you go grab some tickets tonight or make plans for a New Year's Eve view yourself. Follow it up with light drinks and snacks and you could begin your own New Year on the happy cloud.
