Don't trust the low rating if you like Comedy Horror!!! This movie ROCKS! (by aweofscience) |
OK, Honestly, first off, this movie deserves a true 100% 7.0 RATING, but I HAD to give it a 10 just to help balance out the ridiculously low rating of a 4.8? SERIOUSLY? I've watched over 10,000 movies in my life probably . HUGE comedy horror fan. I loved this movie! I laughed so hard so many times. Nudity hot girls , lots of gore, silly comical scare moments reminded me of 80's horror movies , plus great actors!Don't trust the rating, give it watch if you like comedy horrors Shaun of the Dead, for example, or remember The Burbs with Tom Hanks? What this movie is NOT like is <more> |
Funniest thing I've seen for years (by ludovica36) |
Laugh out loud funny, stupid funny, creepy funny, every sort of funny. What a terrific movie! Hell Baby brings together some of the greatest 21st Century comedians in a romp through every horror movie cliché in the book whilst still having a considerably broad seam of "WTF?" all its own. Great performances all round with a special mention for cable internet guy Kumail Nanjiani who took a small role and made it into a character I will never forget weeping tears of laughter as he so s-l-o-w-l-y went upon his way. Thoroughly entertaining, marvellously stupid; this may not be <more> |
Good horror comedy (by normanramsey94) |
This movie is a very good example of the horror/comedy or dark comedy genre. It has a very talented and recognizable cast even if they are not A list actors . It is basically meant to be a celebration and parody of the majority of modern horror films, much like "Scary Movie". However, this seems more fresh and original than the "Scary Movie" series has been lately. It hits on ever modern stereotype of horror, so do expect a few jump scares. This movie is not meant to be taken seriously so i would not suggest it to a person wanting a real horror film... That being said, <more> |
Hellarious! (by tj0331) |
The cast alone makes this movie very very enjoyable. I can compare it to the Scary Movie films, but its more intense and has more adult humor. Overall, a better version of the imitation comedy franchises. I love the reoccurring characters that sometimes feel like beating a dead horse in the most hilarious way possible. The tone is not for everyone. I would not watch it with my parents. But I would watch it with my younger brother and his friends. I am sure I will watch this a few more times with other people to spread it around. If you liked the State, Reno 911, and dark/evil tones this is a <more> |
Crazy I tell you (by seularts) |
I think this will go into my favorite library. It is just perfectly balanced: humor, horror, mature content decent enough and a ton of laughs.I literally could not stop laughing through most of the movie. The end might have been a bit over-stretched but in the end it worked out OK.I will give this movie 9/10 just because of the strong behavior and extremely hard core soundtrack that made the atmosphere so incredibly genuine. The acting of most characters were good but now flawless still I've seen some incredible acting moments that made this movie look like an original. Sure you get <more> |
HELLaciously Funny! (by KryssAnderson) |
This movie is a must watch for anyone who loves the humor of Reno 911, The State, and B Horror Flicks. Leslie Bibb and Rob Corddry play well off each other. Lennon and Garant are hilarious as the Priests. Keegan Key is one funny, magically appearing mofo. And then there is some crazy old lady that I really just don't want to ever see again. Michael Ian Black and Kumail Nanjiani make great cameos, too. Nanjiani is the Pakistani one of the two. If you are fans of Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, then for all that is holy, buy, rent, steal but drop change behind...anything you can do to <more> |
Finally a parody I loved! (by siderite) |
I grew up with parodies, stuff that was making fun of other movies through references rather than vulgarity or silliness. I tried to enjoy many of the parodies of today and I couldn't, because they were not meant to be real movies, they didn't have acting, but just an ugly caricature of the art.I am happy to report that Hell Baby is a really fun parody of possession movies! It references a lot of them, but not in a direct recreation of scenes or using toilet humor, instead by taking the parody and putting it into a well acted film. All actors involved played really well, but Rob <more> |
A lot better than the reviews make you think (by s-klose) |
I was hesitant to put this one in for a while. Bad reviews and all. But a lot of people that I admire are in it. So today I finally watched it. and I can watch very few movies these days since I am in the hospital for 5 weeks and only seldom get out waiting for surgery , well back to the movie. It's structured like a spoof but has an original actor and features most of L.A's stand up elite. Some of the have already got their own TV Shows . Thomas Lennon not only has a huge part in this movie he also directed it and he did that very well. They had a limited budget but you can't <more> |
Great cast, funny movie! (by RevRonster) |
I enjoy everyone that was involved in this "Rosemary's Baby"-like send up so it wasn't much of a surprise that I found this movie to be extremely funny. The movie has its issues like the plot is really messy and doesn't feel very fluid but the jokes and gags the movie throws at you had me rolling and busting at the seams, so I barely even register this as a complaint.Rob Corddry, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel, Keegan Michael Key and the writers/directors Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant were all extremely funny and made a movie that did a better job at making fun of horror <more> |
